Delete My Data

Many types of data can be deleted immediately within the Forpang app while you are signed in. Because you are authenticated, only you can delete your own data.

Posts & Comments

1. Sign in and navigate to the post or comment you want to remove.
2. Tap the options menu (⋯) on your post or comment.
3. Select "Delete" to permanently remove it.

Reactions & Votes

1. Sign in and open the post where you left a reaction or vote.
2. Tap your existing reaction or vote again to remove it.
3. Your reaction will be deleted immediately.

Saved / Wishlisted Items

1. Go to your Profile and open your saved items.
2. Tap the bookmark icon on any saved listing to unsave and remove it.

For data types that cannot be removed directly in the app, or if you need bulk deletion, you can submit a request by email. To verify account ownership, please include:

• Send from: The email address registered to your Forpang account
• Your nickname: The display name shown on your Forpang profile
• Your 2 most recent post titles: The titles of the last 2 posts you made on Forpang (this confirms account ownership)
• Data to delete: Specify clearly which data you want removed (e.g. "all my reactions", "my profile picture", "all comments in board X")
• Reason: A brief reason for your request

Our team will respond within 7 business days to confirm your request.

Types of Data You Can Request to Delete

• Profile information: Display name, profile picture, and bio
• Community content: Posts, comments, and replies
• Reactions & votes: All reactions and votes you have left on posts or listings
• Saved items: Your wishlist and bookmarked listings
• Business listings: Listings you submitted as a business user

Data That May Be Retained

Even after a data deletion request, some information may be kept:

• Account credentials: Your email address is retained to keep your account active unless you also request full account deletion.
• Legal obligations: Data required by law for the legally mandated retention period.
• Fraud prevention: Records needed to detect or prevent fraudulent activity.
• Aggregated analytics: Anonymous, non-identifiable statistics that cannot be traced back to you.

Any retained data is held for no longer than 90 days unless legally required otherwise.
