About

As the world's first international conference to be officially sponsored by the International Coffee Organization (ICO), an organized body operated under the UN, and the leading conference of its kind in Asia, the World Coffee Leaders Forum (WCLF) was first held in 2012 and has since continuously provided a platform for specialists in the field to provide their insight on a number of select issues to aid in the sustainable growth of the global coffee market. The forum also offers the chance to pursue the search for a new paradigm focused on the future of the industry that takes a look at the changes that are in store.

There are several issues facing the global coffee industry that must be overcome. Some of those issues include the expansion of the specialty coffee market due to the increased demand for high-quality coffee; the price increase of basic costs and the coffee itself that result from such an expansion; the damage caused by plant-attacking bugs on top of inadequate temperatures for farming coffee plants due to global warming; the relationship between coffee producers and countries of consumption; the changes in the coffee market following the pandemic as well as the required solutions needed as a response to such change; and so on. The guest speakers from both home and abroad help break some ground regarding these issues in order to offer new possibilities while those in attendance help brainstorm global market trends and the challenging, new directions to take the market.
