About
According to the "Gyeongguk Daejeon," a legal code from the Joseon Dynasty, there was always a craftsman who produced the best goods necessary for the royal family and the nation active in Seoul (Hanyang). During the Japanese colonial period and the industrialization period, the number of places available for craftsmen was greatly reduced, yet still today there are craftsmen in Seoul who carry out tradition and craftsmanship from the factories that historically produced the best products. This exhibition tells the story of 25 artisans who have dedicated their lives to inheriting traditional techniques, spreading their skills and passing them on to future generations.
