What surprised you the most when you first came to Korea?

For me it was how convenient everything is.

Convenience stores everywhere, fast delivery, clean public transport.

But also some things were confusing at first like:
• garbage sorting
• housing deposits
• Korean banking apps

Did you know foreigners can get tax refunds in Korea?

Many foreigners working in Korea don’t know this:

Some tax deductions are possible for:

• housing rent
• education
• insurance
• donations

Has anyone here successfully claimed a tax refund in Korea?

Where do you buy halal meat in Korea?

I’ve been trying to find reliable halal meat in Seoul.
Some places are good but delivery is slow.

Any recommendations? 👀

Let’s make a list for new foreigners as well.
